Recent figures from the Swedish Council for Higher Education show that the University of Gävle has 11 101 first choice applicants. This is an increase compared to last year.

“The fact the University of Gävle belongs to those higher education institutions which see an increase in the number of applicants is a very rewarding piece of news,” says Vice-Chancellor Ylva Fältholm.

The most popular programmes

The programmes at the University of Gävle with the highest number of applicants are programmes in business and economics, in social work and the study programme in applied criminology. These programmes are also among the most popular programmes in Sweden.

“I am very pleased that University of Gävle stands strong in a region with a great demand for well-educated people. We continue to develop and the fact that we have been granted degree-awarding powers for the Master of Science in Engineering, is a big step forward for the supply of skills in Gävle as well as in the whole region,” Ylva Fältholm says.
