International exchanges give new perspectives to both students and teachers

2019-07-03

For those who want to broaden their horizons in education and teaching, there is a whole range of opportunities for both students and teachers at the University of Gävle. An intensive course in Ålesund in Norway gave nursing students Emma Larsson and Sara Broberg new experiences and insights into the profession in other countries.

The intensive course lasted for five days and was attended by 29 students from twelve higher education institutions in the Nordic region and Estonia. The course is a recurring component of the Nordplus Medico network which is a form of collaboration among universities in the Nordic and Baltic countries.

At the University of Gävle, the network is linked to the Academy of Health and Occupational Studies.

“It was very educational, exciting and a great experience. What I gained from the trip was greater self-assurance and new experiences, both socially and within the world of medicine,” says student Sara Broberg.
