If you are a new student who has just arrived to Gävle, you are not alone. Finding meeting places and new friends is often where the fun begins.
The Student Union
Gefle Student Union's main focus is to perform quality control of education, improve courses, the student social and working environment and that the student perspective permeates all the University's activities. This work is mostly led by the unions president and vice president.
The student union can help students if they have questions concerning their time at the University or their studies but cannot help students with housing or jobs. The union arrange many different kinds of events where students can meet and socialize. To become involved in the Gefle Student Union is therefore a great opportunity to take part in and be able to influence student life and at the same tie get to know students studying other subjects.
Student Associations
International Committee, IntU Gefle
The International Committee, IntU Gefle, focus is international students at University of Gävle. This is newly formed committee as a part of the Student Union, Gefle Studentkår. The committee’s main purpose is to create opportunities for international students to meet each other, explore the city and of course take part of the Swedish student life.
IntU Gefle organizes welcome weeks at the beginning of each semester where you will be divided into smaller groups. The welcome weeks are filled with a wide diversity of fun events for you to enjoy together with your group as well as with other international students. The welcome weeks take place during the first couple of weeks of the semester. IntU Gefle will keep organizing events every now and then during the semester. You will receive more information in an email one week before the semester starts.
