"We want to create Sweden's best student life here in Gävle"

Gefle Student Union has recently elected a new board for the financial year 2021/2022. The pandemic year 2020 caused challenges for students and the student union. As most events were cancelled last year and the number of members plummeted, the new board’s focus will be on rebuilding student life.

– Our aims are to strengthen the union as a student organization, to strengthen our work with student influence and student representation as well as our collaboration with the student associations. In these ways, we want to create Sweden's best student life here in Gävle, says Emelie Carlström, new chair of Gefle Student Union.

Why should a student join the student union?

– Gefle Student Union is involved everything that a student comes into contact when studying at University of Gävle, from the reception of new students to improving the quality of education by conducting student influence. We also organize social events for students outside school hours. Moreover, we also engage in student influence in relation to, for example, student housing owners and collaborate with the municipality and much more.
