Sustainable use of natural resources is of highest importance for promoting a sustainable development. In this M.Sc. course, you will learn about environmental conditions of concern, both historical and current environmental issues, regarding sustainability in Nordic ecosystems. In the course it will discuss past and present environmental problems and propose ways to improve conditions. Different options for long term solutions in fishery, mining and forestry will be discussed. It will also include seminars on sustainable energy use in Sweden, and the use of nature for recreation activities, as well as soil and land use in Swedish modern agriculture. The students will also learn about the consequences of pollution in colder climates.
