Software for students with disabilities

As a student with a disability, you have the possibility to download the writing aid programmes Stava Rex and Spellright and the speech synthesis programme Clarostudio on your own computer. The Educational Support Coordinator provides the username and password for the programmes.

If you do not have a documented disability, but still feel you would benefit from the software, you can access it via the Remote Desktop.

Spell Rex and Spellright

Spell Rex is specially designed for people with reading and writing difficulties and provides much better support than standard built-in spelling and language checks. Spell Rex can be used by anyone who sometimes needs extra spelling and language support. Spellright is for English text.

Send an email to ps@hig.se to obtain a username and password for the programme. Indicate in the email that you need access to the Spell Rex software.

Clarostudio with Claroread Pro and others

Clarostudio is a speech synthesis programme (text-to-speech) that speaks as words are written, letter by letter, word by word or sentence by sentence. It offers audio, spell checking and changes to layout, text, fonts and colours when working in Word. It also offers homophone checking, word prediction and vocabulary correction.

To obtain a username and password for the programme, send an email to ps@hig.se. Indicate in the email that you need access to the Clarostudio software.
