About the workplace

University of Gävle is human-centred and develops the understanding of a sustainable living environment. One strategic research araea is Intelligent Industry. The University of Gävle has approximately 16 000 students and more than 50 study programmes and second-cycle programmes. 750 courses are offered in the fields of Humanities, Social and Natural
Sciences and Technology.

The number of employees is around 700. Of these, approximately 500 teachers and researchers and 200 are in charge of
administration. Regardless our work duties two things unite us: To support and guide our students during their study time and work for the University's research to benefit the community.

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Science has more than 50 academic employees and includes Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

The research in electrical engineering at the HiG is interdisciplinary to its character and combines the fields of measurement technology, radio communication, robotics, signal processing and related fields. The research is applied and is often conducted in collaboration with industrial partners.

Arbetsuppgifter:

Work tasks

At the present we have research projects that includes machine learning and wireless network control systems in industrial production plants. We therefore search a guest researcher to work in these projects.

The projects are academic research project, but include contacts with and collaboration with industrial practitioners. Some research activities are also carried out in collaboration with researchers in other academic disciplines, such as computer science and industrial management. The position may include some teaching. The position is for one year, but could be extended. The start date is according to agreement with the candidate.

Kvalifikationer:

Qualifications

The position requires a PhD degree in electrical engineering, engineering physics, or equivalent. Research and professional experiences in system identification, machine learning, or control is particularly meritorious. The candidate
must be proficient in English.
